Flowers Around Town April 21, 2011

Filed under: Uncategorized — brandynbruce @ 1:17 am

Jason and I have been photographing wild flowers this spring. We have had a great time discovering that all the yellow and purple flowers lining the sides of the roads are all actually different. Soon we are going to take on the task of finding the names of each one. Enjoy these pics. I promise there will be more to come.

For Christopher’s birthday we went camping. We had a great time. All the kids had such fun playing in the sand and water, eating smores and hotdogs. I think we’ll have to go again soon.

Fun in South Dakota-Rushmore/ Crazy Horse July 10, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — brandynbruce @ 7:04 pm

So the day we decided to go to Mount Rushmore and The Crazy Horse Memorial was nearly cold outside. To top it off we arrived in a downpour. We  basically ran up to Rushmore, snapped a photo and ran inside and had lunch. After lunch we ran back to the car and within a few minutes, the storm had passed. While we were at Crazy Horse, right next door, the sun was out and shining. Funny how the weather works.

Fun in South Dakota-Storybook Island July 9, 2010

Storybook Island was a free amusement park. There was a ton of stuff to do. The kids could have easily spent the entire day here. Of course the parents and the weather wouldn’t hold out so well.

Here’s Benjamin and I on a firetruck.

Fun in South Dakota-Wonderland Cave July 9, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — brandynbruce @ 9:17 pm

Our first adventure in South Dakota was the Wonderland Caves. We had a great time down there. Benjamin was a little nervous at first but he settled into the new atmosphere and loved touching all the rocks.

Christopher found a slippery spot and fell on his bottom, no serious injury but very dirty pants. If you can’t already tell, Christopher dressed himself this day, and I didn’t notice the backward pants till after I took this picture.

Here we are at the top of the mountain, on our way inside.

The kids with cousin Lisa. They had so much fun together. I think I could use a nine year old around the house. She was a lot of help with everything.

This is in the “big room”.

Always something to learn. Here Jason is pointing out something to the kids on the celing.

Christopher was amazed with everything down there. He wanted to find some bats, like his shirt, but we had no such luck. All in all we had a great time underground.
